Hola! Let's usher in the new Galacticos! aka Stop yer' moanin' Manyoo fans!

Whilst I'm in a steady momentum talking about football, I might as well rant about the latest revolution (ver.2) at Real Madrid. When the great Zinedine Zidane was hauled in to assist Real Madrid to assemble a new line-up of Galacticos (slang for 'superstars'), I was obviously excited (not so much of a Real fan me'self but the thought of a ridiculously assembled 'Dream Team' gives me sheer joy again....and it's NOT Manyoo we're talking about here!). Hurrah!

At one point, during the 03-04 season, one must have had the jitters when they played against the like of Zidane, Raul, Morientes, Beckham, Figo, Ronaldo, Casillas, Roberto Carlos etc......ALL IN THE SAME TEAM AT THE SAME TIME! That's just pure insane. Where did Real got all their resources for those insane purchases? Let's just skip that shall we. We'll concentrate on the the latest efforts by Mr Florentino Perez (that's Real's ambitious Chairman by the way) to bring back the glory days of the early 2000s. What better way to relive the good 'ol days than to re-hire the man who was there on the pitch himself, Mr Zinedine Zidane in an advisory role.
One must have remembered Zidane's sublime skills on the pitch, twisting, turning with the ball....torturing opposition defenders, taunting wannabe-tacklers of the ball with his trickeries. I particularly remember clearly the Quarterfinals match during World Cup 2006...where Zidane was credited as the one player who single-handedly tormented the Brazilians with his 'feet sorcery'....some went as far as saying France 'bullied' Brazil that day....led by a certain mr Zidane. Ok, enough of Zidane.....more on the 2nd Galacticos revolution!
Most football fans were left astounded by the ridiculous amount of transfer fees involved in getting both Cris Ronaldo (GBP80) and Kaka (GBP56) from their respective clubs. I mean, nobody ever says no to Real Madrid really. Even Manyoo and AC Milan did very minimal effort to persuade their respective stars once they found out that Real has been courting their players with the promise of lucrative transfer fees. Let's not even get started with the amount of salary offered to these 2 players..........

From what I've read, AC Milan fans were reluctant to let their star midfielder go to Real, but alas, upon the urging of Silvio Berlusconi (club owner), they gave their blessing to San Siro's favourite son and wished him all the best in his future endeavour. Now that's being sporting. We salute you Rossoneri (red-black) supporters!!!

Manyoo fans, on the other hand, couldn't stop complaining on how it was better for their talismanic no. 7 to go anyway. Gone from their minds (already) are those dazzling/magical skills he produced for them oh-so many times at Old Trafford and at away stadiums. Fans should respect that players have their ambitions and career plans as well, be it solely for money or not. I can't help but to feel disgusted to read cliched facebook statuses which generally read "I-can't-understand-why-HE-has-to-go?". Face it Manyoo fans, there are BIGGER clubs than yours.....you may have won titles consistently, but money CAN buy your players!

In the meantime, let's usher in the new Galacticos. Looks like there's gonna be an influx of new Real supporters, 'specially those who hated that former no. 7 in THAT Red Devil shirt, but respects him as a player!!! I'd say it's time to crack up those Real jerseys from yesteryears, as we wait patiently for Real to unveil their new shirt designs.

'Nuff said.
